Information

The Regional ABI Project conducts a range of activities designed to keep service providers informed and skilled in the delivery of services to clients affected by ABI.

These activities include:

The Regional ABI Networks.
There are two primary meetings of service providers in the region: monthly meetings in Geelong and two-monthly meetings in Warrnambool. These forums provide an opportunity for service providers in many organisations and roles to meet and share information. You can download the
Network meeting dates (plus guest speakers) and the Map to venue.

In Geelong, the Network also facilitates small working groups on key projects (e.g., Brain Injury Awareness Week).

Information Directory. A regionally-relevant directory of ABI services is maintained by the Project.

Information and Secondary Consultation. ABI Project staff field many enquiries and can provide phone-based advice around ABI client and service issues.

Training calendar and support. Training for staff is organised and subsidised by the Project.  In-services and mentoring occur regularly.  (Workers who primarily identify with other disabilities such as mental health, alcohol and other drugs, but whose clients have ABI are encouraged to utilise the service.)
