About the Regional ABI Project

This site is intended to provide service providers in the Barwon Southwest region with relevant local information, training, and secondary consultation relevant to acquired brain injury (ABI). It does not provide direct services such as attendant care, day activities, or therapy.

The Regional ABI Project has two main roles:

  1. It provides information, training, and secondary consultation to service providers whose clients have ABI.

  2. It also operates the Regional Neuropsychology Service, through which neuropsychology assessments are conducted.
Staff are located at Warrnambool and Geelong, but are available to all regions of Barwon South West.

Project origins

This project is part of the ITASC (Information, Training, and Secondary Consultation) initiative of the Department of Human Services (DHS).

The project commenced in the year 2000 with funding from the DHS, and an auspice arrangement with Barwon Health.

Project staff are located at the McKellar Centre in North Geelong, and Lyndoch Living in Warrnambool.
